SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic reader Karen submitted a Caturday photo with a cat with RBF–which makes her even more adorable in our opinion!

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out sapphic fiction author J.D. Cunegan with the book Summertime, Assassins, and Other Skullduggeries. Loving the title–sounds so exciting!

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of Cape Cod.

Guess the Sapphic Books Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.

In case you missed them here are the clues:

1. I grew up in a log cabin in the woods, outside of a town of 1000 people, with no other ordained town for thirty miles in either direction.
2. I liked K-pop before it was cool. Second generation represent.
3. I majored in Japanese Studies and have studied and worked all over Japan. We only have Sailor Moon to blame.
4. I’ve been publishing for over ten years and cowrite books with… myself.
5. My new release is actually a sapphic retelling of one of my old M/F novels that I first wrote when I went full time. It actually features an “alternate timeline” version of one of my all-time popular book girlfriends, who appears as the MC’s little sister. Yes, she’s still gay!

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Hildred Billings!

Check out The Submissive, Hildred’s new release!

She’s is about to be pursued, caught… and healed.

Lifestyle submissive Monique is only a year out of an abusive relationship with her former Mistress. While she picks up the pieces and forges a new life for herself, a woman named Helen appears. Helen offers everything Monique desires in life… but is she the Mistress who can help heal this broken heart… and body?

Get The Submissive here.

Hildred’s bio:

Hildred Billings is a Japanese and Religious Studies graduate who has spent her entire life knowing she would write for a living someday. She has lived in Japan a total of four times in four different locations, from the heights of the Japanese alps to the hectic Tokyo suburbs, with a life in Shikoku somewhere in there too. When she’s not writing, however, she spends most of her time talking about Asian pop music, cats, and bad 80’s fantasy movies with anyone who will listen…or not.

Her writing centers around themes of redemption, sexuality, and death, sometimes all at once. Although she enjoys writing in the genre of fantasy the most, she strives to show as much reality as possible through her characters and situations, since she’s a furious realist herself.

Currently, Hildred lives in Oregon with her partner and two cats. The dream achieved.

Visit Hildred’s website.

Monday kicks off a fresh Guess the Author game!

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels and find out what sapphic books they’ve brought along!

Sadly, TB and Miranda didn’t go on an adventure last week. Miranda is preparing for surgery, so she’s been staying inside to avoid coming down with a cold, flu, or something worse. Her surgery has already been delayed once and she doesn’t want it to be delayed again. TB has been staying inside, because after Miranda comes home from the hospital, TB will be staying at Miranda’s to help out. TB doesn’t want to give Miranda any germs during her recovery when her immune system won’t be able to fight much.

So TB dug into her photo archive for these photos of the seaside from Cape Cod. They were in the area two weekends ago, so it seemed fitting.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
