Why this book and why now?

“The Taste of Her Silence” is the third and final book in the Jensy Willett Trilogy (“The Touch of Her Voice” and “The Sound of Her Smile”). It seemed fitting to finish it as soon as I could, following the release of the second volume. “The Taste of Her Silence” is the culmination of my dream to tell the story of Jensy Willett.

Would you and your main character(s) get along?

I believe we would get along very well. In many ways the character of Jensy Willett is a direct reflection of who I am… at times impulsive and bumbling, often good-hearted and well-meaning, and at times dwelling on thoughts and situations. In addition, her qualities of resilience and independence, and her ability to love deeply, would also be things that I would admire in Jensy.

What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?

Jensy really enjoys “The Great Gatsby.” She likes the plot, the time period (the 1920s), and she particularly likes the prose, symbolism, and word choices of F. Scott Fitzgerald.

What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

If Jensy Willett was stranded, she would want Sophie Barnes, Jamie Lowell, and her Welsh Corgi, Tobie, to endure the experience with her. Jensy would want to be surrounded by those she loves and those who love her in return. If the “things” can’t be living beings, she would want a favorite book, a basketball, and pictures of those she loved. These things would keep her connected to what matters the most to her: reading, the sport of basketball, and a constant visual reminder of the people she loves.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

Jensy would be happy to celebrate the accomplishment with a white chocolate latte.

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

She would put on music that to which she could ballroom dance… the Tango or the Paso Doble. Dances that bring a passion and sensuality to their performance.
