SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic reader Michelle shares an adorable Caturday photo.

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out sapphic fiction author GA Rea with Love In The Shadows.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of TB’s visit to a Maine lighthouse many years ago.

Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. She was born in an area where during the summertime, the living is easy.
2. She’s got a thing for hot teachers, so much so, you might call her a bit stalkerish.
3. Art does imitate life, so be careful you might just end up in one of her books, because she’s prone to kiss and sell.
4. She love’s being on top, so she’s typically the boss when it comes to giving you a little read.
5. Her upcoming novel will fill you with abundant joy and put a song in your heart!

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Aunt Georgia Lee!

Check out Cheryl, Aunt Georgia’s new release!

Queer News Worth Clicking Graphic

TB is determined to spread good rainbow news during 2024, which let’s face, is going to be a rough year. There are a lot of elections all over the world, which means we’re in for a lot of scaremongering. While it’s important to stay informed, it’s also vital not to lose sight of all the kindness in the world. Below are the happy queer stories that made TB smile this week. They’re queer news links worth clicking!

Trans inmates win “lifesaving” lawsuit demanding improved health care & safer housing — Trans rights are human rights!

Kristen Stewart gives talk show host Seth Meyers a hilarious, drunken ‘lesbian makeover’ — We highly recommend watching the video!

Kelly Clarkson asks gay men’s chorus to sing for her after learning they were covering her songs — They sound great!

This amazing church is holding an Easter drag service to stand up against anti-trans bills — Love it!

Activists celebrate new Washington state law requiring LGBTQ+ history in schools — TB approves!

Good News from the IHS Community

We love sharing things that’ll make people smile, which is why we’ve started asking for good news from the IHS community.

This week we’re happy to share that IHS hit 500,000 views for this year. That’s half a million and two months earlier than last year! We’re blown away by how much people love the website. We couldn’t have done this without your love and support. Thanks so much for being awesome!

Do you have good news to share? Submit it here. Help put a smile on someone’s face while celebrating one of your wins!

Meet Sam! Sam loves peanut butter and lying down on a warmed up treadmill belt. He will sit and stare willing me to hurry up and finish…basically the opposite of a personal trainer. Submitted by Michelle, a reader.

GA Rea with Love in the Shadows

Have you read Love in the Shadows by GA Rea yet? Here’s the tagline: One woman fights for her life, while the other one tries to save it.

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels and find out what sapphic books they’ve brought along!

TB here.

The weather has been dreadful in Massachusetts, which kept me home all week. That and a writing deadline. I dug into my archive and found these from the time I went to Maine to see some lighthouses. It was a hot day in July, and I almost feel warm just looking at these photos. I’m so tired of being cold and miserable. Counting the days until the weather starts to feel like spring!

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
