Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic author S. Y. Thompson shares a Caturday photo of two adorable cats.

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Katia Rose with the book The Summer List.

Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. My college professor picked me as Most Likely to Succeed in her creative writing class, so I’ve been out here proving her right since then.
2. I can successfully recite entire soundtracks from Broadway shows, complete with different voices for each characters.
3. I did more research for my latest release than I ever have with any other book. I’m ready to get my medical license now.
4. I know more about Walt Disney World than any other topic.
5. I self-published my first book in 2021 and the series is still going.

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Addison Clarke!

Check out Finding Wonderland, Addison Clarke’s new release!

Cover of Finding Wonderland

Life is about finding the person who is compatible with our imperfections.

For Isla and Vera Mackenzie, they found that person on a random day in 1995. It was nothing extraordinary, but what followed was a love story that was anything but ordinary.

Going back thirty years, Isla and Vera recount how they fell in love and the journey of their lives. It’s a story filled with ups and downs, laughter and tears. From babies to teenage kids, Isla and Vera have been by each other through it all. Everything they face they overcome the same way: together.

Join Isla and Vera on their walk down memory lane. Catch up with Mason and her friends, and maybe learn more about their pasts. Enjoy meeting new characters, and the future stories they might hold. But more than anything, fall in love with Isla and Vera all over again.

Get Finding Wonderland here.

Addison Clarke’s bio:

Addison Clarke is a self-proclaimed nerd who loves all things Disney and Broadway. When she’s not writing, she can be found building LEGO or hyper-fixating on her latest celebrity crush. She is currently working on too many projects at once.

Katia Rose with The Summer List

Have you read The Summer List by Katia Rose yet? Here’s the tagline: One summer can change everything.

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels!

TB here.

A couple of weekends ago, we went for a drive through the Berkshires on what turned out to be an extremely rainy day. One of our stops was a historical home that’s only open a handful of times a year.

We love visiting these homes to get glimpses not only into the past, but the lives of the former occupants. The Merwin House was home to Mrs. Merwin, who married three times. According to our guide, her first husband was the one her family wanted her to marry. Her second was someone her family didn’t like and it was sorta like revenge for inflicting the first husband on her. The third was for love and even though she lived in the house with the other two husbands, the home now has the last name of the third husband. We heart true love.

Here are some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
