1. I’ve visited all fifty states and five continents. The secret to easy travel is packing cubes.
2. My first job out of college was archaeology. Which was a very exciting though expected outcome considering that was my major.
3. I have a minor in art history and a favorite hobby is arguing how random silly things are art.
4. I refuse to give up my midwest accent. I don’t care if no one else in NYC is calling that beverage pop—that’s what it is.
5. I prefer Skippy peanut butter above all other peanut butter because it tastes like joy. My second choice is Jiff, but it tastes like I’m a responsible adult now.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves Zooey Zephyr.
The Montana legislature has voted against a measure that would have barred state Rep. Zooey Zephyr (D), the legislature’s only transgender member, from using the restroom. The Montana Joint House and Senate Rules Committees narrowly rejected the amendment (S.J. 1), which sought to prevent transgender individuals from using restrooms aligning with their gender identity at the state capitol, with a vote of 10-12.
While the vote shouldn’t have been so close, this is a victory considering Montana is a red state.
