Here are Judy’s top sapphic reads of 2024:

1. Pink, Chocolate, and Ruby Red by Katie Simpson-Shaw

Katie is a very creative writer. She takes two characters with two different neurological conditions and builds a beautiful and amazing love story around them. There’s a bit of mystery involved but very little angst. I highly recommend this book. I loved it.

2. Vengeance Planning for Amateurs by Lee Winter

This is a delightful book by Lee. Muffin maker needs a henchperson to get back at her exes. Up steps bookstore owner and ice queen who volunteers to be said henchperson. Add in some suspense, quirky characters, a peacock, a penguin and a cat named Wednesday. Falling in love couldn’t be sweeter.

3. Bachelorette Number Twelve by Jae

Any book by Jae is worth every second of your time. She is wonderful at writing playful banter between characters and unpredictable storylines. All I can say is after reading this book, no one can ever look at or eat a Twinkie the same way again.

4. Posing in Paradise by TB Markinson & Miranda MacLeod

This book became one of my very favorites because of the humorous dialogue that grabs you right from the start. The characters are so real and relatable. I just loved them, and their attraction just sizzled off the page. Beautiful story, as always.

5. Cupid is a Cat by Lise Gold

This is a very heartwarming story. Cupid, as they, is non-binary and manifests as Toby the ginger cat. What I so enjoyed about this story is the concept of Toby telling the story from their own point of view. Genius absolute genius. Toby’s job is to bring the two main characters together and it’s not always easy. This is such a joyful and feel-good story, with a very special ending.
