Countdown to Record-Breaking Views
Now that we’ve reached the magical number of 10k in the book database, it’s time to announce another number we’re chasing that TB has been keeping a close eye on.
Last year, we had 2,119,942 views.
As of writing this, we’re currently sitting at 1,971,661.
That means we need 148,281 more views to beat last year’s number. We have two months and a couple of weeks to hit that number.
Given that TB is so bad at numbers, it’s funny that she’s been so focused on them lately. Little did she know, when she started IHS all the way back in 2017 that it would become so popular with readers. That thought puts a rainbow in her heart!

Before we get to today’s Friday Feels Fun post, it’s time for Guess the Author
Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.
Here is today’s clue:

5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.
Here are five random facts about Alysia D Evans.
1. I can play country music, and many other songs on the ukulele.
2. As a birthday present I got to drive a steam engine. Which was a great experience as my granddad was an engine driver in India.
3. Fifteen years ago I had a brain haemorrhage and survived thanks to the fantastic medical team around me.
4. I love women’s soccer, cricket and rugby, and wish I could have played these sports at school.
5. In Covent Garden many years ago I became involved in a comedy scenario with Ruby Wax and her dad.

Before buying a “free” book, please ensure it’s free in your marketplace. Amazon has a habit of changing the price of permafree titles in stores outside of the US. Please know this it out of the author’s control and we are unable to check prices in all Amazon stores.
Some of the books are only free today, October 17, 2025, so don’t miss out!

Meet Piper! Piper is the inspiration for a supporting character in Cash Target. Isn’t she adorable? Submitted by Edale Lane, a sapphic author.
Today’s post is also sponsored by Jen-Lea Mercy. Please check out For The Price.

HAVE YOU VOTED IN THE LATEST BOOKS OF THE MONTH POLL?
Voting for September Books of the Month closes on October 31.
QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves the IHS BookFinder.
Since last month, we’ve been sharing a very special countdown. We were close to hitting 10,000 books in the IHS BookFinder. Each book has to be manually entered. That means a lot of copying and pasting. Then creating a universal link. And updating an entry if there’s a new cover or the book enters or leaves Kindle Unlimited. Sometimes the books are removed from Amazon, meaning we have to remove them from the database.
We thought it would take 5 years to hit the 10k mark, but we did it in a little over 3 years.
We can’t explain how special the moment was when we hit publish on the 10,000 book, which was Margin of Error by Rachel Lacey.

You can see in the screenshot that in total 10,193 books have been added to the database, but 193 had to be removed since they were removed by the author or publisher from Amazon. It’s a constant work in progress not only to add new books but to keep the contents up to date and accurate.
In today’s political climate, having a database filled with sapphic books is one way we’re fighting authoritarians who are trying to take away queer rights.
Our next goal is 15,000 books. We think it’ll take 3 years. Help us get there!
Authors and publishers, if your book(s) isn’t in the database yet, please fill out this form.
Readers if you notice that a sapphic book isn’t in the database, you can fill out this form.
That’s all for today.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
Miranda & TB
