It’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!
Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.
Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:
1. I am emotionally attached to my wreck of a car, which is held together by blu-tack, drawing pins, and duct tape. For a while, it was a two-door car—with both working doors being on the passenger side.
2. My first ever short story was published on the now-defunct website Cleansheets in 2000 (when I was a babe-in-arms, obviously! 🤣) and earned me $50.
3. When I lived in Arizona, I once slipped on a shaley slope and sat on a barrel cactus. Do. Not. Recommend.
4. Some of the research for my latest book included visiting my local animal rescue, and watching many, many Instagram reels about the sport of hobby-horsing (and yes, becoming fascinated).
5. An author mate recently said, “I can confirm that [my name] dresses like Steve Irwin.” Unfortunately, she’s right.

Meet Strawberry! This is my Berry of Straw, or Strawberry. Strawberry was rescued by my mama and after having behavioral problems over at Mama’s, she came to me. When I got Strawberry, she was so scared of everyone. She hid from all visitors, she ran if you tried to talk to her or touch her, and she kept away from view in hidey holes. After two and a half years, my little orange cat is the sweetest baby ever. We love to snuggle in bed while I read or watch television, she gives kisses and is always purring, and after several visits will allow newcomers to pet her. This picture shows where she stays most of the time, on her cat tree in the living room, while I am hard at work on lappy. Never sleep on the powers of patience, love, and understanding.
