Why this book and why now?

Last year I decided that in 2023 I would finally start self-publishing. At first I didn’t have any specific idea for a novel, then one started as kind of a private joke with a friend. There wasn’t any romance involved in that original plot, just a murder mystery. Then Andy came along and I fell in love with her, and Andy in turn fell in love with someone else. They haven’t really left me since and in a few days I had most of the story mapped out and ready to be written!

Would you and your main character(s) get along?

Probably not very well. Andy is too loud and bold and I’m easily startled! I’d probably admire her from afar.

Do your character names have special significance or meaning?

The love interest’s (chosen) name, Thalia, is taken from Greek mythology. It was chosen for a very specific reason that ties into her arc as a character, and I’m excited for people who will read the book to find out.

Aside from the obvious food and shelter, what 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

Probably a complicated puzzle to keep her mind busy, some trainers so she can run laps when she’s bored of the puzzle, and sunscreen which would actually save her life.

One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it. What do they do?

Andy would take her girlfriend to a dancing or art class to show her off, because she’d be so proud of the other woman everyone needs to know how good she is, and that they’re too late: Andy won.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book!

Thalia hasn’t had much chance to live her life fully until we meet her in the book. So she would go for a piña colada, because she wants something strong, but sweet too, and she doesn’t know that many names of cocktails.
