Why this book and why now?

I write mostly sapphic suspense and thrillers, but in 2019, I released my first Christmas romance. Back then, there was no sapphic character to be found in any of the Hallmark movies my wife and I enjoyed binging around this time of year (Fortunately, that has changed, though there could always be more.). I made it a tradition to release one holiday romance each season, and The Christmas Memory is this year’s offering!

Would you and your main character(s) get along?

I think so! They love Christmas. The holiday has been tough some years, but I learned to embrace it again. And now, we go all in. Clare and Avery would love to spend Christmas in Québec City – it is like a Hallmark movie sometimes!

What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?

It has to be A Christmas Carol, because they both love the holiday and its potential to open people’s hearts.

One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it.

A night at an ice hotel! We have one here in Québec that my wife and I visited (though we didn’t stay). I think Clare and Avery might want to try it. Overall, the city and surroundings become a winter wonderland during the season. I could see them travel here and have a dinner at the revolving restaurant from where you have a 360 degrees view of the city. Very romantic all year long, but especially when you can see all the Christmas lights!

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

For the season – mulled wine. For those who don’t want alcohol, or kids, a tasty punch.

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

Very likely some Mariah Carey!
