SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal queer reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good wlw book. What could be better?

TB IS DISTRAUGHT

Her cat Grey is sick. Poor Grey was at the vet’s all day yesterday and it’s looking like she’ll have to go back today for more tests. Neither TB nor Grey have slept much. If you’re waiting on an email, please understand she’s been somewhat slow responding these past few days. We’d appreciate it if you could send positive thoughts and energy for Grey.

IT’S ALMOST THE END OF 2023!

Top 5 Reads of 2023 GraphicCan you believe there are only 9 weeks left in 2023? We hope you’ve made some great progress on your TBRs this year, and we’d love to hear about some of your favorites.  That’s why we’re asking readers to submit their Top 5 Reads of 2023.

This simple form asks for your top 5 books this year, and is open to readers/authors/reviewers/bloggers. Just one caveat: authors, you may NOT select one of your own books (including books you wrote under a different pen name).

The books you choose do not have to have been released in 2023, simply ones that you read for the first time this past year.

If you’re an author/reviewer/blogger, we invite you to share some details about yourself and your website so we can help you get the word out.

Submissions are open NOW, and we’ll start posting your Top 5 Reads of 2023 in December and will continue sharing them into the new year.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s question, 68% of you got it right. TB visited Concord, New Hampshire. Also, 28% of you think TB cursed the inventor of the alarm clock, who brought the annoying contraption to life while living in Concord. She absolutely did. TB can’t stand alarm clocks and most days she wakes up naturally. Alarm clocks scare the crap out of her, taking a long time to settle down.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

Recently, TB & Miranda spent a weekend in Vermont doing some book research. They stopped at a small town because TB saw a cheese stop. TB always stops for cheese.

Here are the clues about the town.

1. The town is in Windham County, Vermont, United States and has a population of 645.

2. It became an important stagecoach hub for traffic across the Green Mountains into Albany, New York.

3. The Grafton Inn is one of the oldest continually operating hotels in the United States.

4. American storyteller and poet Daisy Turner (June 21, 1883 – February 8, 1988) was born in the town.

5. The town was originally called Thomlinson, but there was an auction allowing the winner to rename the town. The highest bid was “five dollars and a jug of rum.”

Time to vote on the name of the Vermont town.

Polls close on November 9. The answer will be revealed on November 11.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
