Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Author Lyn Denison submitted a Caturday photo that made us smile.

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out sapphic fiction author Mary Carroll Moore with the book A Woman’s Guide to Search & Rescue.

Finally, scroll to the bottom for some cheerful flower photos. TB needs all the help to get through these brutally cold winter days.

Guess the Sapphic Books Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.

In case you missed them here are the clues:

1. I have a sweet spot for ginger cats. Several make an appearance in my books.
2. I published my first sapphic romance in December 2007.
3. I write all my research, plot, and character notes long-hand with a fountain pen but switch to a keyboard when I start writing the story itself.
4. I live closer to Paris than to the capital of my country.
5. For my recently released novel, I researched emergency medicine, disc golf… and Twinkies (I had never had one before)!

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Jae!

Check out Bachelorette Number Twelve, Jae’s new release!

Warmhearted ER nurse Ellie and icy doctor Regina constantly clash at work.

When Regina volunteers at a singles auction, Ellie accidentally bids on her—and ends up winning a date!

Soon, the ice between them starts to thaw in this hilarious enemies-to-lovers medical lesbian romance.

Get Bachelorette Number Twelve here.

Jae’s bio:

Jae is the author of twenty-four award-winning lesbian romances.

She lives in the sunniest city in Germany, near the French and Swiss borders. The writing bug bit her at the age of eleven.

She used to work as a psychologist but gave up her day job in 2013 to become a full-time writer and a part-time editor. As far as she’s concerned, it’s the best job in the world.

When she’s not writing, she is an avid reader of lesbian books, indulges her ice cream and stationery addictions, and watches way too many crime shows.

Monday kicks off a fresh Guess the Author game!

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

TB here.

We had another storm, keeping me inside this week. Although, if things don’t derail me at the last second, I’m off on an adventure later today. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Since it’s been so cold, I’ve been day dreaming about summer. One of my favorite spots for a day trip is the Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls. You may not know this, but I have terrible allergies to flowers, but I just love them because they’re so colorful and pretty. I’m also deathly allergic to bees (and other insects), but I find them fascinating. Miranda gets nervous when I start photographing insects around flowers. She might have a point. I nearly lost one finger because of an insect bite and on a different occasion a bee sting sent me to the hospital when I had red streaks going up my right forearm. I still love and admire nature. I don’t think the bees have it out for me.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
