Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. I started off writing and publishing straight historical fiction.
2. My backstory is quite literally… a back story.
3. I am one of the younger members of the Sapphic Fiction community.
4. I have some pretty odd allergies – lentils being one of them.
5. My upcoming release is my third book, and my first time writing about gender identity.

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Katherine Blakeman!

Can I figure out my identity in time to save my marriage?

Until recently, being Jean Taylor (wife of Petra) has been fine by me. But when a blast of menopause hormones brings a wave of gender dysphoria, I find myself struggling to cope. Add that to work struggles driving Petra away… and our marriage suddenly teeters on a cliff-edge.

Get Love You However here.

Katherine Blakeman’s bio:

Katherine Blakeman is the England-based author of The Silent Chapter (a sweeping straight historical fiction novel set in twentieth-century Bedfordshire), The Summer We’ve Had and Love You However (both sunny Sapphic romances set in modern-day Cornwall). She loves to tackle difficult topics, like child loss and shellshock in The Silent Chapter, depression and Dissociative Identity Disorder in The Summer We’ve Had, and marriage and gender identity in Love You However. Her books are full of emotions, twists and love – always, always love.

TB is determined to spread good rainbow news during 2024, which let’s face, is going to be a rough year. There are a lot of elections all over the world, which means we’re in for a lot of scaremongering. While it’s important to stay informed, it’s also vital not to lose sight of all the kindness in the world. Below are the happy queer stories that made TB smile this week. They’re queer news links worth clicking!

The Amazing Race 36 features not one, but two LGBTQ+ couples for the very first time: ‘So cool’ — Best of luck!

Mariah Carey backs LGBTQ+ book about a boy who loves… Mariah Carey — Very sweet!

Maine lawmakers face down death threats & advance bill protecting gender-affirming care — We applaud their bravery!

Judge rules queer teachers have a right to use their chosen pronouns in First Amendment victory — Excellent news!

Two lesbian judges made history this month. They’re also both badass moms. — Fantastic! And can we get more queer judges?

Meet Chica!

Meet Chica! Chica is the youngest in the house, she likes to get the advantage of height, where none of the elderly cats can reach her. She also likes to enter the house from the upper floor windows… such a bandit 🙂 Submitted by Shani, a reader.

TB here.

On Monday, Miranda and I headed for Island Pond, Vermont to witness the total eclipse. It was a truly magical experience. Sadly, the photos don’t do it justice. But it was so amazing to witness.
