Clue #5: This new book features a veterinarian and the paralegal from my first March 2024 book, as well as a dog named Einstein and a feline, Sunny. My third book is coming in December 2024 and includes not only a rescue dog, but also an office tarantula.

Meet Bobbie & Bliksem! Bliksem (‘lightning’ in English) was named like that by my nephew because she eats with lightning speed. She and Bobbie are both adopted from different homes and they are very happy together. Submitted by Sonja, a sapphic reader.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE

It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.

This week’s good news involves Boston.

After decades without a dedicated lesbian bar, Dani’s Queer Bar announced on the socials that they would officially open on Thursday, September 12.

The manager says the “core audience is Queer, Sapphic Women, Trans and Non-Binary members of the LGBTQ+ Community in Boston. Dani’s Queer Bar hosts weekly events, from drag shows to emo dance parties, that showcase Boston’s queer culture and allow everyone to be their true and honest selves.”

Curious why they named it Dani. The manager named the establishment after her dog. Aww!

Find out more here.

That’s all for today.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
