SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic author Sienna Eggler shares a Caturday photo of a stunning black cat!

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Evelyn Shine with the book The Librarian’s Gargoyle.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of TB and Miranda’s trip to the zoo in Providence in Rhode Island to see more pumpkin art!

Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. My first taste of writing success was winning the Creative Writing Cup aged 11 for an Enid Blyton fanfiction.
2. My current release is my debut, inspired by my time working on a pig farm.
3. I grew up by the sea and spent my summers messing around in boats.
4. Fingersmith by Sarah Waters was the first gay book I read, sparking an undying love of sapphic historical fiction.
5. I’m a die hard spaniel fan – I challenge you to name a better breed!

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Lucy Jacobs!

Check out Islands of Mice, Lucy Jacobs’s new release!

The line between hero, patriot and traitor is often razor thin.

Norway. 1942.

The islands of Smøla are darkened not just by the long nights, but by blackout and Occupation. Solveig Eik dreams of being a hero. She’s bored of her everyday life, of tearing propaganda posters off walls, listening to hidden radios, and arguing with Liv Sunde – the islands’ glamourous schoolteacher and the girlfriend of the German colonel.

Opportunity steps out of the shadows when she finds a man, hiding from the Germans in a cave. As Solveig navigates treacherous waters and her plans spiral out of control, she finds that all too often the line between patriot, hero and traitor is razor thin.

Get Islands of Mice here.

Lucy Jacobs’s bio:

Lucy Jacobs lives in the wilds of the New Forest, Hampshire, England, with her brown spaniel and too many books for the number of shelves she has. Lucy writes the kind of historical fiction she’s always wanted to read: adventures, interesting moments in time, where girls get the girls and (almost) everyone is cool with it.

Monday kicks off a fresh Guess the Author game!

I recently found out I love pumpkin art thanks to our visit to Blaze in Hudson Valley last month. When I saw an ad for another pumpkin spectacular at the zoo in Providence, Rhode Island, I immediately made plans to visit. I simply love this time of year!

Here are some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!
