Here are five random facts about Mariette Robertson.
1. I love science!
2. I used to read Elle magazine a lot.
3. I love vegan products.
4. I currently have a magazine called adventure sports journal in my backpack.
5. I painted my nails black last week.
Have you read The King of Sheeba yet?

Before buying a “free” book, please ensure it’s free in your marketplace. Amazon has a habit of changing the price of permafree titles in stores outside of the US. Please know this it out of the author’s control and we are unable to check prices in all Amazon stores.
Some of the books are only free today, April 18, 2025, so don’t miss out!

Meet Edda! She may seem like an angel (just look at that super cute bow tie), but she’s also the fiercest dog I‘ve ever had. Sometimes I feel as if she’s herding me like one of the goats her kind was bred to protect in the Himalayas. Submitted by Jasmin Joachims, a sapphic author.
Today’s post is also sponsored by Jolie Dvorak. Please check out The Nightingale and the Rose.

HAVE YOU VOTED IN THE LATEST BOOKS OF THE MONTH POLL?
Voting for March Books of the Month closes on April 30.
QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves the Colorado Governor.
Amid growing concerns about the future of marriage equality, Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D), who is openly gay, has signed a bill officially repealing the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.
Although the ban has been unenforceable since the Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision, the reversal of Roe v. Wade sparked fears that same-sex marriage rights could also be at risk. With this new legislation, Colorado law will continue to safeguard marriage rights for LGBTQ+ couples, regardless of future federal rulings.

That’s all for today.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
