Happy weekend!
Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?
In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.
Leslie, a sapphic reader, shares a Caturday photo of two beautiful kitties.
One of the things we love about the weekly author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Emarya Montgomery with Vega.

It’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!
Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.
Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:
1. I taught myself to sew with a mini sewing machine because I really wanted a quilt. Now I make miniature clothes to help me see the outfits I write… still haven’t gotten around to making that quilt.
2. I got really into music production during the pandemic. Sometimes when I’m stuck on a scene, I’ll make music to enhance the mood while I write.
3. I draw all of own promotion material/book covers. A long term goal of mine is to make a webcomic version of at least one of my books.
4. I gained the confidence to write after taking a Business English class for my electronics degree. Years later my debut novel was finally published, and that degree is collecting dust.
5. As research for writing the magical battles in my novels, I attempted to watch a few of my favorite fighting scenes. I ended up getting distracted and “accidently” binge watched several anime series instead.
Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…
This week’s author is Bea Chicory!
Check out She’s Engaged to the Other Princess, Bea Chicory’s new release!
What do you do when you hate your fiancée but need her bite to live?
Their marriage will unify the land if they don’t destroy each other first…
Sterling nation princess and dragon shifter, Avaline Silver, has spent her entire life trying to escape the demands of her royal duties. When she’s not sneaking out of the palace to impersonate her mentor, she’s teasing her retainer.
Karat nation princess and hen shifter, Mariella Gold, doesn’t pull any punches or mince words. Her direct personality and intense combat training keep her isolated from her own subjects.
With war looming, an arranged marriage is the spirit realm’s greatest hope. For the princesses, a union is their worst nightmare. Avaline’s determined to break off their engagement, but she can’t stay away from Mariella or her bite. In a battle of what the heart wants versus what the body needs, will there be a victor, or will they both lead to the same place?
New adult sapphic shifter romance written in past-tense, dual third-person POV. Can be read as a standalone, but the reading experience will be enhanced if read in order. Contains mature themes and spoilers for She Fell for the Witch’s Disciple. Each book centers on its own lesbian couple. CWs can be found on author’s site.

Bea Chicory’s bio:
Bea Chicory’s debut novel released in 2025. Her stories have influences from both sides of her Blasian heritage. Her favorite characters to write are strong, resilient lesbians that become puddles of mush around their partners.
When she’s not writing, she’s cuddling with her two fluffy cats in her PNW apartment. Music production, drawing/animating, and sewing are her other hobbies, but her latest obsession is perfecting new sauces to elevate her vegan tofu game.
The next Guess the Author will start on July 13, 2026!
