Dear Authors, the clock is seriously ticking on 2022 and if you want your book(s) involved in the End of Year 99c Blowout Sale the deadline to submit is December 16th!

At IHS Headquarters, we’re busy organizing the 2023 IHS Reading Challenge. We’ve mapped out 39 of the 100 categories and we’re crafting new ways to get authors and readers more involved. Keep an eye on this space for all the upcoming details about the 2023 IHS Reading Challenge and how you can help promote the books in your backlist, connect with readers, and hopefully have a bit of fun.

Let’s get to this week’s news.

2023 IHS Advertising Rates and Packages

Miranda talks advertising, including why IHS is now allowing ads and how the journey to this decision wasn’t easy.

To find out the particulars, check out our advertising opportunities page.

If you’re ready to go straight to the rates and booking form, you can do that here.

Jae's Tips for AuthorsJae’s Guide to Mastodon

You’ve probably heard that many people have left Twitter for Mastodon or have set up an account on Mastodon, just in case Twitter goes down. Jae has done the latter. She’s still staying on Twitter, but wants an alternative way to reach readers in case Twitter implodes even more.

If you’ve put off joining Mastodon because it seems complicated, Jae has put together a few tips to make it as simple as can be.

If you aren’t on Mastodon yet, here’s an easy-to-follow step-by-step instruction.

Help us grow the I Heart SapphFic Newsletter!

Just like every author and business, we’re always trying to grow our email subscriber numbers.

Miranda came up with a brilliant idea for December. We’ve rolled Take Two, the story Miranda and I penned for the I Heart SapphFic Pride Collection, out of Kindle Unlimited so we can give it away as a freebie for new subscribers.

If you have a newsletter going out this month, it would be fantastic if you could share this offer. The Mailchimp sign up link is: https://eepurl.com/dxgunr

This offer is only valid for December and if you’d like the graphic, please email TB at [email protected] for it. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Find a Book

The I Heart SapphFic BookFinder has more than 2,100 books!

And how many times have readers used this new resource to find a book? We’ve had nearly 13,000 searches in less than 10 weeks! This is great news for authors who want help getting eyeballs on their backlist. As TB likes to say, her backlist keeps the lights on.

Each book gets a permanent entry in the BookFinder and its own dedicated page on our site. For free!

We’re coming up with more ways to showcase books in the BookFinder, so if you haven’t submitted your books, we highly recommend doing that ASAP.

Introducing our latest feature, All About the Books!

The New Release Newsletter is one of the most popular features on IHS. Authors appreciate the free exposure for their new books, and readers love finding new stories and characters to fall in love with. As for us, we love helping with that mission.

This is why we’ve started another FREE way for authors to showcase their new books.

All About the Books allows authors to provide some behind the scenes details about their new book baby, including the inspiration, what cocktails their leads would enjoy on launch day, if the author and main character would get along, and more.

If your book was published after October 11, 2022, and you’d like to take part, click here for the All About the Books submission form. Going forward, we’ll be sending you the link to participate via email when we confirm your new release submission.

Submit a new release

New Release Newsletter Submissions

Don’t forget, if you have a new release (no older than 60 days), you can submit it to be included in the New Release Newsletter that goes out every Tuesday. We feature new ebooks and audiobooks.

Click here for the submission form.

If the book(s) is already in the IHS BookFinder (for example, if this is the audio version of a book we’ve already featured), click here for the short form.

We’re booking several weeks out right now, so the sooner you send us your forms, the better. Due to space constraints, we will no longer be able to include new releases in the newsletter unless we receive a form from the author or publisher.
