TB LEARNS THE HARD WAY THERE’S A COST FOR BEING HONEST
During one of their zoom calls to go over all the costs involved running IHS (TB hates these calls), Miranda noticed that TB wasn’t being changed by Mailerlite, the new email service provider. When TB looked at it online, she noticed the account hadn’t been charged since April.
Miranda laughed, saying, “That helps because we’re drowning.”
TB responded, “I can’t knowingly steal, even if the fault is on their end since they have my payment details.”
So, TB emailed Mailerlite informing them they haven’t been charging her. It took Mailerlite a couple of days to investigate before they came to a solution. They weren’t going to charge TB for the months they didn’t bill her because they said the blame was on their side. But they didn’t know how to rectify the situation without drastic measures.
They cancelled TB’s account, telling her to sign up again. This presented some headaches.
Another thing that rubbed TB the wrong way. The new fee is $23 more each month, because they recently raised the rates. The lower rate was one of the big reasons we switched to this platform, because our previous email service kept raising their prices. Sometimes, it feels like we can’t win and will get buried by corporate greed.
It’s said that honesty is its own reward. In this case, TB’s wishing she kept her mouth shut. Mostly. She’s not good with guilt.
