Here are Katie Trapp’s top sapphic reads of 2023:
1. Desperate Times by Hildred Billings
The chaotic relationship between the MCs had me hooked. The pace was perfect, and the struggle with emotions was relatable. This will be a reread for me.
2. The Taste Of Women by Cyan LeBlanc
When the author has you rooting for the cannibal MC despite her many, many flaws, you know it’s a good book. The shock factor, the gore, and the macabre humor were perfectly written.
3. The Roommate Arrangement by Jae
This one had me laughing out loud and falling for the MCs. While slow-burn isn’t typically my thing, I loved it. The slow development of Steph and Rae’s relationship was so fun read. The sprinkle of fake relationship was the icing on the cake.
4. Dark Haven by Brey Willows
The unique world Willows built for this book is fantastic. From the very first page, I was reading it quickly to see what would happen next. The relationship between Sage and Remy was perfectly chaotic. I’ve recommended this several times.
5. Sway by Char Dafoe
Sway was a welcome change from my usual reading. I was pleasantly surprised by all the twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The spice level was through the roof, and the found family Dafoe created made me wish I was seated at the dinner table with them.
