Happy weekend!
Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?
In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.
Sapphic reader Eva shares a Caturday photo of a beautiful cat who is always causing problems!
One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Charlene Neil with the book Mom’s Last Wish.
Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of TB & Miranda’s visit to small Vermont village for a holiday festival!
Before we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!
Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.
Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:
1. When I was a kid, we didn’t have a lot of money. We also didn’t have dental insurance. As an adult, as soon as I could afford it myself, I got braces on my teeth. I was 31.
2. There is a mounted deer head in my basement that doesn’t belong to me and upsets me. So, I have named him Rick and I pet him and apologize to him every time I’m down there.
3. I taste tested a whole bunch of beer for one of my novels. Fun fact: I don’t like beer.
4. For my upcoming novel, I spent an entire week watching baking and pastry videos on YouTube. Pretty sure I can make pâte a choux in my sleep.
5. One of my books contains a scene with a fairy trail in the woods. It was inspired by one I stumbled across by complete accident when I was on a hike.
Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…
This week’s author is Georgia Beers!
Check out This Christmas, Georgia’s new release!
It’s Christmastime and everyone is in the holiday spirit at no-kill animal shelter Junebug Farms.
When Junebug sponsors the annual Christmas parade to raise money and awareness for their shelter, the staff have a plan: the king and queen of the parade will spend the holidays filming adorable Christmas vignettes to bring in donations and find forever homes for lovable pups before Santa comes.
What they don’t know is that Mia Sorenson, volunteer dog walker and superior matchmaker, is about to rig the voting so that her granddaughter, Samantha, and Sam’s friend Keegan, win queen and queen of the parade. Sam and Keegan have been dancing around each other for years, and if Mia doesn’t do something, they might never realize they’re meant to be together. But can Sam and Keegan ever forget the Big Embarrassing Thing that makes romance a nope?
It’ll be all paws on deck to bring them a miracle and make this Christmas one to remember.
