SapphFic News, Jean Copeland, 12 Sapphic Books on Sale, Caturday, and More!

SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
It’s a cold weekend, meaning it’s the perfect time to curl up with a book!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal lesfic directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good book. What could be better?

In case you missed the news last week, we’ve added a twist to Where in the Heck is TB? Not only does TB love to go on adventures, but she also never leaves home without a book. It’s almost embarrassing that it took us months to think of the twist, which was Miranda’s brilliant idea. Each time TB explores a new place, she’ll snap a photo of a women-loving-women book, hence the title: Sapphic Books in the Wild.

For the second installment of Sapphic Books in the Wild, TB had a book by two authors TB’s lucky to call friends: Anna Stone and Hildred Billings. Find out which of their cowrites TB brought along at the bottom of this post!

If you don’t know which lesbian fiction book to dig into this weekend, check out the BookFinder. There are over 2,950 books in the database, so odds are we have something you haven’t read yet. Or just amuse yourself by entering wacky combinations to see if anyone has written the book.

Without further ado, let’s get to all the sapphic book news from this past week!

This is Bubba. Her markings remind me of Phantom of the Opera. She is a major diva, constantly whining if either of my 2 cats dare walk past her, or even look at her. Submitted by Rosemary, a reader.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s mystery, 38% of you were right. The spite house is called the Pink House, which is kinda funny considering I think of pink as a happy color, not revenge. Also, 41% of you guessed the story behind the house has revved my creative juices. This is true. I can’t stop thinking if revenge can lead to love…

Now for this week’s guessing game.

The day I visited the Pink House, I got hungry, so I popped into a city near the revenge house.

Here are some facts about the place.

1. It’s a coastal city in Essex County, Massachusetts, and it was originally inhabited by the Pawtucket Indians.

2. The city is situated on the southern bank of the Merrimack River where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.

3. William Lloyd Garrison, the abolitionist, was born in this city.

4. During its heyday, the city was a fishing, shipbuilding and shipping center. Clipper ships used to be built there.

5. In the early 1800s, a fired destroyed the downtown part of the city, which prompted improved fire safety and building codes.

6. The Fowle’s sign has become an iconic landmark on State Street.

This is the second week of Sapphic Books in the Wild. While in this city, TB snapped photos of The Girlfriend Arrangement by Anna Stone & Hildred Billings.

Here are the photos of the city, including some shots of The Girlfriend Arrangement.

Time to vote on the name of this seaside city!

Polls are open until March 2 and the answer will be revealed on Saturday, March 4.

This poll is no longer accepting votes
