Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal queer reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good wlw book. What could be better?

Calling all Sapphic Authors!

We’re organizing a sale for September 21-25.

Here are all the deets:

Authors can include up to 3 books per pen name.
The sale price points are: $0.99, $1.99, $2.99, & $3.99
If you’re listing your book at $2.99 or higher, the book must be at least a 50% discount off the regular price. That means perma 99c and $1.99 books are allowed, but if you want to list for $2.99, the book must have a regular price of $5.99 or higher.
Books MUST be at their sale price in ALL marketplaces no later than noon EST on September 20.
POLICY REMINDER: If you get involved in this or any IHS sale and then fail to discount your book by the deadline (which is always noon the day before the sale starts), you will not be allowed to participate in any other sales or special events for 90 days. Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last’s week’s question, 87% of you got it right. We were in Ottawa, Canada. Also, 8% of you think Miranda and TB got heat headaches. It was bloody hot that day, which curtailed a lot of our exploring outside. Staying inside helped kept the headaches at bay. Luckily, we got the a/c fixed in TB’s car before this leg of the trip, or it would have been a miserable drive home.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

A handful of week ago, Miranda and TB went to New York City for a couple of days.

While there, they walked through a famous park on the way to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. They brought along Only for the Summer by Shannon O’Connor.

Here are some clues about one of the cities they explored on an extremely hot and humid July day.

1. This urban park is located between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City.

2. The initial parts of park first opened in 1858 and was completed in 1876.

3. It was the first massive landscaped public park in the entire United States. Rich New Yorkers wanted their own park after seeing some in European cities like London and Paris.

4. During construction, to break the bedrock, workers had to use gunpowder. They ended up using more gunpowder in the park than during the Gettysburg battle in the American Civil War.

5. It’s the fifth largest park in NYC, but it’s the most visited urban park in the United States.

6. It’s the most filmed location in the world and according to a 2017 report, more than 230 movies have shot scenes there.
