Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s question, 52% of you got it right. We visited Nantucket. Also, 13% of you think TB got seasick on the ferry. Luckily she remembered to take motion sickness pills before each sailing. She still had to keep her eyes closed to avoid getting sick, leaving Miranda to entertain herself for a long hour on a noisy boat.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

On Thursday, TB needed to get out of the house after spending so many days and nights locked up in her apartment preparing to publish her latest book. She hopped in Pepper, her car, and went for a drive, stopping in a quaint town in The Berkshires for lunch. Sadly, Miranda couldn’t go because of her basement flooding in the bad storm from earlier in the week.

TB took along Do It for the Glory by Kaya LaSalle.

Here are some clues about where TB went.

1. It’s a charming town located in The Berkshires and has earned the nickname Gateway to The Berkshires.

2. Papermaking became one of the main industries of the town and one of the mills was the first to provide The New York Times with groundwood newsprint.

3. The town is also known for the marble quarried there, some of which has been used in the Capitol in Washington DC, 250 sculptures adorning Philadelphia City Hall, the General Grant National Memorial in NYC, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, also in NYC.

4. Joe’s Diner is located in the town, and it was included in the “The Runaway” painting by Norman Rockwell. See the photo below of the diner and painting.

5. It’s a popular tourist destination.

6. It was used as a filming location for the film The Cider House Rules.

Here are some photos of the town and Do It for the Glory by Kaya LaSalle.

Time to vote on the name of the town.

This poll is no longer accepting votes

What's the name of the town?

Polls close on September 21. The answer will be revealed on September 23.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!
