SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal queer reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good wlw book. What could be better?

TB & MIRANDA HAVE RECOVERED!

We mentioned in yesterday’s post how we weren’t feeling well due to get our flu and covid jabs. We’ve recovered, but TB might still be a bit whiney about her sore arm. Miranda, on the other hand, has been keeping IHS afloat the past couple of days, all the while trying to manage TB’s off-the-wall requests. Like wanting one of her favorite meals from a pub in Dublin. Miranda said no, she wouldn’t fly over and bring it home. She can be so unreasonable sometimes.

YOU CAN HELP IHS WITH YOUR HOLIDAY SHOPPING!

TB is already getting her holiday shopping done. She only has a few more gifts to buy. She’s not usually this on the ball, but the next couple of months are going to be stressful with organizing the November Mega Sale, mapping out the 2024 Reading Challenge, the December 99c sale, and traveling to attend 20Books to 50K in Las Vegas. Not to mention writing one final book before the end of the year!

If you’re shopping for gifts on Amazon, it would be fantastic if you could click on one of our affiliate links first. That way we earn a small commission for your purchase. Every penny we get helps keep the lights on and it’s a simple way to support I Heart SapphFic. Here’s a link you can click to get you to Amazon.

Thanks so much for the help!

CALLING ALL SAPPHIC AUTHORS

If you haven’t submitted your 2024 Reading Challenge forms yet, don’t wait. Nearly half the slots for next year are already filled.

We’re relying on the reading challenge forms we receive to map out the categories and books. Please note that inclusion is not automatic. You must submit a reading challenge form to have your book(s) involved.

The reading challenge is by far the most popular weekly post on the website, receiving the most visitors and clicks. It’s a wonderful and free way to promote either a new release or the books in your backlist.

You can submit as many books as you want and we recommend ticking as many categories as apply for each book to increase the odds of your book being selected. We can only feature an author once in each category, so submitting 5 books with Ice Queen as their only category means 4 of your books will automatically be excluded. The more options you provide, the better.

The submission deadline is December 1, 2023.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s question, 81% of you got it right. TB & Miranda visited Chester, Vermont. Also, 17% of you think TB got her head stuck in the bear when taking a photo. This didn’t happen, but the thought did go through her head. When she was little, she got her head stuck in a railing. Considering she has a really tiny head, this was a feat.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

Here’s another place they explored during their day trip in Vermont and they took snaps of Undercover by Barbara Winkes.

Here are the clues about the childhood home and village of an American president.

1. This home, located in Plymouth Notch, was the birthplace and childhood home of an American president.

2. This individual was 30th president of the United States.

3. He was vice president when Warren G Harding died unexpectedly.

4. At the time of Harding’s death, the future 30th president was at his home in Plymouth Notch and he had to be sworn in there.

5. His father, a notary public and justice of the peace, was the one who administered the oath of office in the family’s parlor at 2:47 a.m. on August 3, 1923. After being sworn in, the new President of the United States went back to bed.

Here are some photos of the home and Plymouth Notch and Undercover by Barbara Winkes.

Time to vote on the name of the US President who grew up in Plymouth Notch.

This poll is no longer accepting votes

Which US President grew up in Plymouth Notch, Vermont?

Polls close on October 26. The answer will be revealed on October 28.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
