We’ve made it to another Friday and it’s time to celebrate!
Find out the top 3 sapphic books with the most clicks this week, 5 Random Things about sapphic author S.L. Brown, and two sweet dogs. And don’t forget to scroll all the way to the end of this post for good news about I Heart SapphFic.
IT’S ALMOST THE END OF 2023!
Can you believe there are only 9 weeks left in 2023? We hope you’ve made some great progress on your TBRs this year, and we’d love to hear about some of your favorites. That’s why we’re asking readers to submit their Top 5 Reads of 2023.
This simple form asks for your top 5 books this year, and is open to readers/authors/reviewers/bloggers. Just one caveat: authors, you may NOT select one of your own books (including books you wrote under a different pen name).
The books you choose do not have to have been released in 2023, simply ones that you read for the first time this past year.
If you’re an author/reviewer/blogger, we invite you to share some details about yourself and your website so we can help you get the word out.
Submissions are open NOW, and we’ll start posting your Top 5 Reads of 2023 in December and will continue sharing them into the new year.

Have you read Little Red yet?
Meet Roxie Lee (much longer but there’s not enough space for her full name) and Bear Lee! Roxie is the baby of the family and a true princess, but caring and so much fun too! Bear is the eldest now, and a little short terror, but he is also the best little guard dog a family could have. Submitted by author SLB.
QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves I Heart SapphFic.
This past Wednesday, the I Heart SapphFic BookFinder surpassed 5,000 books in the database. Woot!
When Miranda told TB about wanting to build a database of all sapphic books, TB’s head exploded. It sounded like a lot of work and there’s no sugarcoating this. It is.
Each book we add to the BookFinder has to be manually added. The first 2,000 added were submitted by authors who filled out forms, making it much easier. Once we got through those, it became harder.
While we’re still receiving forms for new releases, which is immensely helpful, we’re now in the stage where we’re finding the books. This takes time and resources.
Given all that, TB is shocked by finally got the database over 5,000. Many people helped behind the scenes, including Miranda’s parents.
With the rise of hate and the increase of book bans, we at IHS believe our mission of building the database is a vital way to help readers to be able to continue to find sapphic books. We’ll keep adding new books every single day. After we take a moment to celebrate this milestone, naturally.
Here’s to the next 5,000!
That’s all for today.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
Miranda & TB
IHS has big plans to grow our offerings in 2024. More books! New features! So many ways to find your next favorite sapphic read! Our wish list is long, and the expenses add up fast. If what we do is valuable to you and you’d like us to be able to do even more, please consider helping out with a donation of any size. Every little bit helps!
