Happy weekend!
Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?
In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.
Sapphic reader Mattie shares a Caturday photo of a friendly kitty.
One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Dana Hawkins with the book Not in the Plan.
If you’re looking for something to read this weekend, below you’ll find 15 books on sale.
Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see TB & Miranda’s Mystic, Connecticut photos.
We’re grateful to Alyson Root for sponsoring today’s post. Please check out Risking Immortality.
It’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!
Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.
Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:
1. I once went to a prestigious boarding school, but I got so homesick, I only lasted a month. (I learned I was good at hockey, though.)
2. The only bone I’ve ever broken (*touch wood*) is my littlest toe.
3. Three countries I’ve lived in: England, Scotland, and Saudi Arabia.
4. I married my wife in the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park in 2016.
5. I completed a DNA test with Wisdom Panel on my dog, and on one of my sister’s cats, as research for my new book. Did you know my dog is 1% Lagotto Romagnolo? (That would explain why he loves puddles, but can’t swim!)
Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…
This week’s author is TJ Dallas!
Check out The Last Spirit Bear, TJ’s new release!
A bear shifter reaches out for help to find her long-lost family.
Katy Hawkins is desperate to find her family. A bear shifter who grew up in the foster care system, she exhausts all known avenues at her disposal until she finally reaches out to Dr Devin Edwards, the world famous geneticist who helped bring the Caspian tigers back from the brink of extinction.
It’s not a shock to Devin to learn about the existence of bear shifters, but the arrival of Katy at Tiger’s Eye brings its own set of challenges. While she studies Katy’s DNA in an effort to trace her ancestors, she’s also balancing married life with Rex, their four children, and continuing her search for more Caspian tiger shifters.
When Katy returns home armed with knowledge and support from Devin and Rex, she and her partner, River, set out to track down a rare bear population on a remote island off the coast of British Columbia.
Can two people half a world apart find the same resolution through entirely different means? And what will the answers mean to Katy?
A sapphic shifter novel that takes ‘found family’ quite literally.

Meet Finnley Kaede! Finnley is the friendliest cat I’ve ever seen, he just walked right into our house and hearts. That’s actually how he got his name, we initially called him Friendly and he got used to it so when naming him we needed something sounding as close to that as possible, therefore Finnley made sense. He’s a big boy at 20 pounds and is on a diet he claims is highly unnecessary cruel and unusual punishment. He only goes places strapped to me in a baby wrap to keep him calm and assist my back in hefting his weight. Submitted by Mattie, sapphic reader.
Today’s post is also sponsored by Evie Marque. Please check out Wolf Shirt & High Heels.
