Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s Friday Feels Fun post, it’s time for Guess the Author

Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.

Here is today’s clue:

Clue #5: I completed a DNA test with Wisdom Panel on my dog, and on one of my sister’s cats, as research for my new book. Did you know my dog is 1% Lagotto Romagnolo? (That would explain why he loves puddles, but can’t swim!)

5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.

Here are five random facts about G.C. d’Angelique.

1. One of my books was actually censored/banned by a Sisterhood of the Catholic church, because it exposed their abuse. No, you can’t find it anywhere anymore – I had to remove it from any kind of existence, or else I’d be sued into oblivion.

2. When I had kidney stones, I went to the hospital and they sent me to the COVID-19 ward. I stayed there for one hour before the doctor called me and asked about my COVID. When I said it was kidney stones, he rushed me out of there and rained hellfire on the hospital staff’s heads. I did not get COVID there, miraculously.

3. I love playing videogames with my partner – we are hardcore fans of the Animal Crossing series!

4. I have a guaranteed method to have a nightmare: I just have to wake up in the morning and then get back to sleep a few more hours. 100% guaranteed to have the worst nightmares ever.

5. I am actually partially deaf – my left ear is D-E-A-D, so I often tell people I’m not stereo; I’m mono.

Before buying a “free” book, please ensure it’s free in your marketplace. Amazon has a habit of changing the price of permafree titles in stores outside of the US. Please know this it out of the author’s control and we are unable to check prices in all Amazon stores.

Some of the books are only free today, March 7, 2025, so don’t miss out!

Meet Rory the dog

Meet Rory! Rory loves her holiday treats! She is a German shepherd and border Collie we rescued because the person who originally adopted her dumped her in the country, so we brought her home to show her lots of love. Submitted by Cristel, a sapphic reader.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE

It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.

This week’s good news involves transgender athletes.

Earlier this week, Democrats in the U.S. Senate blocked a Republican-led effort to codify restrictions on transgender athletes into federal law. Lawmakers rejected the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, a bill aligned with a broader conservative push to curtail LGBTQ+ rights. The measure failed to secure the necessary votes to advance.

The bill was halted by a cloture vote, a procedural motion requiring 60 votes to end debate and proceed. The measure fell short, with a vote of 51 to 45.

That’s all for today.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
