Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal queer reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good wlw book. What could be better?

The thick smoke from the Canadian wildfires have left New England, making it much easier to breath just in time for the weekend. Unfortunately, both TB & Miranda are furiously prepping for their big road trip in less than two weeks, so they’ll be in most of the weekend working. It’s all for a good reason, though. They can’t wait to hit the road and have time away from their computers.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s mystery, 85% of you were right. TB & Miranda visited the home of Emily Dickenson. Also 13% think Miranda had to explain the poems to TB. In a shocking twist, both TB & Miranda are rubbish when it comes to dissecting poems. When the guide asked for volunteers to read a poem, both TB & Miranda immediately looked to the ground, so they wouldn’t be called on.

Now for the new challenge. Due to the air quality emergency in New England, TB & Miranda stayed home this week. While the air quality wasn’t as dire as in NYC, it was enough to make their eyes and chests burn.

TB went back into her photo archives to share photos of one of the places she loved to walk her dog when she lived in London.

Here are some clues about the place.

1. The cemetery is located in in West Brompton in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and it opened in 1840.

2. It’s one of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries.

3. It’s the final resting spot of Emmeline Pankhurst, a UK suffragette who died in 1928.

4. This cemetery has appeared in many films including Sherlock Holmes (2009), Goldeneye, Stormbreaker, Johnny English, The Wings of the Dove, Eastern Promises, and The Gentlemen.

5. Beatrix Potter used to walk here and came up with character names from tombstones, including Mr Nutkins, Mr McGregor, Mr Brock, Mr Tod, Jeremiah Fisher and, Peter Rabbett.
