Ten Years of Lizzie

This summer, TB released the latest story in the Lizzie series to celebrate TB’s 10-year writing anniversary. Woot!!!!

She sat down to write a post about what 10 years of Lizzie has meant to her and as it turns out, Lizzie has meant a lot. Reflecting on the past decade with such a memorable character made TB realize just how much she owes to Lizzie. Not only for launching TB’s writing career, but for the life advice she learned from Lizzie along the way.

One of the life lessons was simple, but also the hardest for TB to learn and sink in.

Find out more about that lesson here.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last’s week’s question, 78% of you got it right. We strolled through Central Park in New York City. Also, 20% of you think TB kept pointing out spots, saying, “I think SVU filmed a scene there. And there. And there.” Which did happen. During the entire walk.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

After leaving the Big Apple, we travelled through upstate New York, stopping in one of TB’s new favorite places because of the history. While there, we visited a home of a US president.

Here are some clues about the home and president.

1. The home is located in Hyde Park, New York, United States.

2. The 32nd president was born on the second floor of the home in 1882.

3. After getting married, the future president lived in the home with his wife (Eleanor) and his mother (Sara).

4. During his presidency, he visited roughly 200 times, and the home became a second White House where he hosted dignitaries, including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.

5. There’s a manually operated elevator the president had to use after being diagnosed with polio. There’s a photo of the elevator below. You can see the rope he had to pull to move the elevator.

Time to vote on the name of the president.

This poll is no longer accepting votes

What US President lived in this home?
×

Polls close on September 7. The answer will be revealed on September 9.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

Miranda & TB
