SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal queer reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good wlw book. What could be better?

IT’S ALMOST THE END OF 2023!

Can you believe there are only 10 weeks left in 2023? We hope you’ve made some great progress on your TBRs this year, and we’d love to hear about some of your favorites.  That’s why we’re asking readers to submit their Top 5 Reads of 2023.

This simple form asks for your top 5 books this year, and is open to readers/authors/reviewers/bloggers. Just one caveat: authors, you may NOT select one of your own books (including books you wrote under a different pen name).

The books you choose do not have to have been released in 2023, simply ones that you read for the first time this past year.

If you’re an author/reviewer/blogger, we invite you to share some details about yourself and your website so we can help you get the word out.

Submissions are open NOW, and we’ll start posting your Top 5 Reads of 2023 in December and will continue sharing them into the new year.

EXCITING NEW PATREON BENEFITS FOR ALL TIERS

IHS is on Patreon ButtonLast summer we launched a Patreon account to create a community and give you a chance to peek behind the curtain at IHS. Now that we’ve become more accustomed to the platform, we decided to revamp the benefits for each tier, to give more bang for your buck.

Lizzie fans! Beginning in November 2023, Lizzie fans rejoice! Around the middle of each month, you’ll receive a new installment (roughly 5 chapters) of an exclusive new addition to TB’s beloved A Woman Lost Series.

Check out the new benefits here and see embarrassing photos of TB.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s question, 75% of you got it right. It was the home of Calvin Coolidge. Also, 25% of you think TB tried to pet the sheep. While TB thinks sheep are adorable, TB can’t stand the feel of yarn and she’s not sure if yarn comes from sheep, so she simply admired them, keeping a safe distance.

Now for this week’s guessing game.

A couple of weeks ago, TB was on her own for the weekend and she hopped in the car and headed for New Hampshire, visiting one of their cities. She brought along Fire, Water, and Rock by Alaina Erdell.

Here are the clues about the city.

1. It’s the capital city of the U.S. state of New Hampshire.

2. The area was originally settled centuries ago by Abenaki Native Americans called the Pennacook.

3. The Merrimack River runs through the city.

4. Franklin Pierce, the 14th US President, lived in the city and it’s where he died in 1869.

5. Sharon Christa McAuliffe was an American teacher and astronaut from this New Hampshire city.

6. When Levi Hutchins lived in this city, he invented the alarm clock in 1787.

Here are some photos of the city and Fire, Water, and Rock by Alaina Erdell.

Time to vote on the name of the New Hampshire city.

This poll is no longer accepting votes

Polls close on November 2. The answer will be revealed on November 4.

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!
